Misc BS from the weekend

If you agree to let a friend tag alone to see Sunshine Cleaning with you, it should probably not be one who is going to loudly and adamantly go off on a rant about suicide and how anyone who claims to be friends with a person who commits suicide is terrible for not having been a better friend. Particularly if you are someone around whom people tend to do so on an annual basis.

I continue to be amazed by people who call themselves Dommes but are too stupid to manage the most basic of tasks and somehow feel that being born with a vagina entitles them to having their slightest whim satisfied immediately upon demand.

For a shoe junkie like me, it has been far, far too long since I bought a new pair. Have been good about refraining from spending money on the fantastic pair of purple and white Doc Martin’s that I have lusted after for some months now. Over a year ago, I bought a matching set of Docs for my guy and me as a V-day present (yeah, I know, dorky! Don’t worry; he saved me from myself by swapping his for a different pair.) and haven’t had any new foot covers since. So I was quite pleasantly surprised when I was given a pair of basic black shoes yesterday from someone at the café who bought and pair and later decided she didn’t want them. Looks like they were never even worn. Funny, I have 8 pairs of Doc and never did manage to get any of the standard shoes or any in black. Until now. Sweet!

I love watching foreign flicks. Get tired of all the stupid American films where either everything blows up or everyone lives happily ever after (sometimes, both). I prefer the ones where people make mistakes, learn something and then life goes on pretty much the same as before. No fairy godmother/knight-in-shining-armor crap. That just gets nauseating after a while.

The one I watched this weekend was great. Had a pregnant woman who had been slashed up by a serial killer and when they found the body you could still see the fetus moving around. Now that is injecting some disturbing realism into a flick!

Of course, on the completely opposite end of the spectrum from what I just mentioned above, I am incredibly anxious to see Monsters v. Aliens on Friday. Have been looking forward to it for weeks! Fantastic that my favorite movies tend to either one of two extremes: horribly twisted and gory or animations for kids.

I have, or perhaps I should change that to had, a couple male friends with female partners who are jealous and do not approve of our friendship. I am not thrilled, but I can respect that. And although I would prefer that the two of them work on their trust issues and strengthen their own relationship, I could respect the guys if they told me to get lost, go away or even fuck off and die. What I cannot respect is someone who lies to his S.O. so he can sneak out and do something with me. And really, what is the point? Why the hell are you in a relationship with someone you don’t even like enough to be honest with? Why would you risk it all just to hang out and have a cup of coffee or beer with me? Stupid.
